Plagued by almost perennial uncertainty, the stock market suffered a net foreign outflow (NFO) of Rs 18.78 million today, thereby decreasing net foreign inflows (NFIs) in the calendar year to date to Rs 1.33 billion.
Consequently the stock market fell for the second consecutive market day to today, with the ASPI, today over yesterday, declining by 0.28 per cent to 8,722.06 points and the S&P SL 20 Index, down by 0.59 per cent to 8,722.06 points.
Turnover made today was a low Rs 554.45 million, the fourth consecutive market day that the stock market made a turnover of under Rs one billion. The number of shares that changed hands today was a parsimonious 19.81 million.
