The country’s foreign reserves hit an 18 month high of US$ 2,691 million last month (March 2023), aided by Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s (CBSL’s) US dollar purchases from the market, CBSL’s Wednesday’s (12 April) data showed.
Consequently the country’s foreign reserves rose by 21.27 per cent (USD 472 million) month on month (MoM) to $ 2,691 million last month. Last month’s net dollar purchases by the CBSL from the market amounted to $ 397.97 million. Meanwhile, prior to last month’s foreign reserves value of $ 2,691 million, the country’s foreign reserves notched a higher figure than that was on September 2021 with a value of $ 2,704.2 million, CBSL statistics also showed.
